3rd Quarter - Illustration

We’re now in our 3rd quarter Contemporary Media class and we will be learning about a new program called Adobe Illustrator.

Adobe Illustrator is a program used by both artists and graphic designers to create vector images. These images will then be used for company logos, promotional uses or even personal work, both in print and digital form. It is typically used to create illustrations, charts, graphs, logos, diagrams, cartoons of real photographs, and more. While the program may be difficult to understand initially, the final product will be well worth the learning curve. Both graphic designers and illustrators do visual work, but the essential difference is that a graphic designer works on design structures and an illustrator does more drawing.

When considering the two careers, assess your skills and interests. If you like making websites, coding and detail oriented work, graphic design might suit you. If you prefer drawing, illustrating concepts and creating logos, illustration is a better fit. Adobe Illustrator is a sophisticated graphics application that helps you to create complex and attractive designs with type effects. You can create logos, advertisements, and other illustrations with ease using this software. However, creating complex designs can be overwhelming if you are not familiar with the tools present in Adobe Illustrator and their features. In this course,

Vector Images - Creating vector images allows you to create clean, beautiful works of art that can be scaled up and down infinitely without ever losing quality. Have you ever created an image in Adobe Photoshop, and then realized that you should have created it three times larger than you did? You go into Image Adjustments, increase the size, an the image is now pixelated and looks horrible. If the image was too small to begin with, you’ll need to start all over again. The same does not remain true for Adobe Illustrator. Unlike the familiar gif, jpeg, tiff, etc images known as raster images vector images are not made up of a grid of pixels. They are instead created by paths a combination of a starting point and an ending point with a combination of shapes, angles and lines in-between.

I will be using Adobe Illustrator to create illustrations such as logos and advertisements that include drawing, manipulating simple shapes, create logos, and combining text and graphics to create advertisements. We also will be making and understanding Vector Images and using Vector images skills.

2D Flash Cycle Animation

During the past 3 weeks we've been working on a 2D animation program called FLASH. We learned how to make a 2D animated walking stick man following instructions step by step. We had a choice of either learning from a video tutorial or step by step instruction with screenshots and I chose to follow step by step instruction. There were more than 20 steps required to finish this animation and today I will be demonstrating one of these tools and the tool that i will be demonstrating is the BONE TOOL. The BONE TOOL is used to create the joints to the stick man's arms and legs. The joints are one of the most important parts to making him walk.

We had to make different poses for the stick man walk and we had to make sure we did the right poses unless it would look like the stick man is gliding across the floor. There was a lot of certain steps to follow to make your stick man walk. we even had to make the head and neck move and we had to make a ground with obstacles like rocks to walk past. The arms and legs and even the body and head were made separately. It was one of the easiest projects we have done as a class that was super easy to do, all you have to do is follow the steps.

There were a lot of ideas for this project i had. Like maybe next time we can make him interact with other stickmen. Also add a story with dialog and make a background for him to walk past. We can also make him do other movements like jump, Run, and doge things that come in his way. Making a story and adding colors would be a really cool project.

What Is A Motion Design?

In my Contemporary Media class we are gonna use the Adobe Flash program to make a Motion Design.

Motion graphics is digital photography and/or animation technology to create the illusion of Motion or rotation, and are usually combined with audio/music for use in Multimedia projects. Motion graphics are usually displayed via Digital Media/technology.

Motion - Is movement, and it can also be defined as a continuous change in the position of an object each type of motion is controlled by a different type of force.

Design - sketch of plans for (a work to be executed), Especially to plan the form and Structure of Visualization.

There are multiple types of motion designs, and many ways to make a motion design for many different designs. My class will be working on making the world of 2nd dimension, then we will move on to 3rd dimensional designs when we are done editing. The motion design is adding motion into lettering and pictures and mainly everything will have motion on the screen.

Photoshop Buisness Card Project

For our final project in my contemporary media class, we had to design a business card using Photoshop. We downloaded a business card guide from the internet to help us figure out the dimensions. Before we got started designing we had to create a professional design document listing all of the elements on the business card: 2 fonts, background color, color scheme, contact info, original graphic design image and finished graphic design.

Here is one of the main color schemes.

Photoshop For Beginners: The Power of Layers

This week in my Contemporary Media class, we used Photoshop to create a logo. We used Special Effects, Drop Shadows, Color Pallet and the Text Tool.  Layers are important for any design work because that's how projects can get edited

Designing logos is the job of a graphic designer. Now that I know how to design a logo in photoshop, I am able to make logos for local businesses.

WHAT IS CONTEMPORARY MEDIA?

contemporary media is advanced Digital arts, brand new technology for the modern time.

The definition of contemporary is existing at the same time or of the present time period. An example of contemporary are the works of Fitzgerald and Hemingway. An example of contemporary is furniture in the modern style

Living or occurring at the same time.

Contemporary: is living or occurring at the same time and belonging to or occurring in the present.

Contemporary media means: advanced technology studies

Here are a few examples of the word contemporary:

Usage: Since contemporary can mean either `of the same period' or `of the present period', it is best to avoid it where ambiguity might arise, as in a productionof Othello in contemporary dress. A synonym such as modern or present-day would clarify if the first sense were being used, while a specific term, such asElizabethan, would be appropriate for the second sense.

Contemporary art is the art of today, produced by artists who are living in the twenty-first century. Contemporary art provides an opportunity to reflect on contemporary society and the issues relevant to ourselves, and the world around us.

belonging to or occurring in the present.

Media: the means of communication, as a radio and television, newspaper, and magazines, that reach or influence people widely

syn: contemporary, contemporaneous, coeval, coincident mean happening or existing at the same time. contemporary often refers to persons or their actsor achievements: Hemingway and Fitzgerald, though contemporary, shared few values. contemporaneous is applied chiefly to events: the rise of industrialism, contemporaneous with the spread of steam power. coeval refers either to very long periods of time, or to remote or distant times: coeval stars, shining formillennia; coeval with the dawning of civilization. coincident means occurring at the same time but without causal relationship: World War II was coincident withthe presidency of Franklin D. Roosevelt.

My Definition Of Contemporary Media: //The definition of contemporary is existing at the same time or of the present time period. An example of contemporary are the works of Fitzgerald and Hemingway. An example of contemporary is furniture in the modern style.// is advanced technology in academic learning & communication through technology such as Facebook, Tumblr, Insta-Gram, SnapChat, SoundCloud etc you get the point.
